Am I crazy?
Ask my husband and he will say yes. ;-) As if taking care of 3 kids, doing housework(not well, I may add-hee hee), knitting, is not enough, I'm going to add attempting to make Cake Pops to the list. Cake Pops? What are those you ask...just look here. They look simple enough, right? HA! I'm sure I can complicate the heck out of it and make a huge mess in the process. But what the hay...I'll give it a go. If they turn out, I hope to make them for Gavin's end of the year party. It's such a cute idea. I've never thought I've had a creative bone in my body, but then I learned to knit and realized, hey I may be crafty after all. Tomorrow I'm getting all the supplies I need to make these cute little treats. I'll post tomorrow how it turns out. Wish me luck! ;-)
My morning
I wake to the sound of the box fan shutting off. I immediately know...the power has gone out. I don't know what it is, call it a gift, call it craziness, who knows, but I can be woken up from a dead sleep when the power goes out. Usually I'm a pretty heavy sleeper, and few things wake me up, one, is the kids, guess it's a mom thing. I can hear if the kids are crying in the middle of night or sick. And two, the power going off. I realized my "skill" after we moved to Guam and had many power outages, some from earthquakes(then again it was probably the earthquake that woke me up-lol), or the power would go out for no reason what so ever. So after the power went out this morning I just laid in bed for a while till one of the kids came in to let me know "the lights were broken".
They are perturbed that they couldn't watch cartoons this morning but got over it. I was perturbed...no coffee. Oh, well, I don't HAVE to have a cup of coffee every morning, right? So off we go to take Gavin to school. After we drop him off we have to head over to Old Lyme to go to the Comcast office to get some special CD(we are having trouble with our stupid computer, but that's another story). Get to the Comcast office, they have NO idea what I'm talking about...great. Call Comcast's 1-800 number, they tell me I should of never been sent there...perfect. So at this point I'm getting annoyed. Normally I would not get annoyed over such things. I start to think, "hmmmm...maybe I DO need coffee". :-) While we are in Old Lyme and right next to the A&P we stop in to see what they have on sale. We always get their circular and they have such great deals but we never go there. I look at prices and have decided to go back tomorrow after Phil gets paid to get a few items that I think are pretty good deals.
When we got home the power was still out but the power company was out working on the lines so I knew it would be on soon. In the meantime, I made a 2 week menu(well almost, I have a few more meals to come up with), and started a grocery list. I did this while the twins ran around like crazed maniacs. But they did find some old toys in bag in the back of the downstairs closet and they were excited about that. "I've been looking for this forever", Madeline said.
The power is back on, the twins are eating lunch, and I (yes at 11:45) am having my first cup of coffee. Mmmm, coffee!

80s Hair
I got to sleep in on Saturday. When I came downstairs the kids were eating breakfast and I noticed Madeline had a 80s do going on. Phil had fixed the kids hair and I guess he had spiked Logan's hair with gel but it had fallen down. So he went and redid it. So here are some pics of L&M and their 80s hair-do's
Memorial Weekend
We had a great 3 day weekend. The weather was nice and warm. We were able to go to the beach and the kids played in the water. The water temp. is still in the 50s, so I don't know how they can stand being in the water, but I guess as kids stuff like that doesn't phase them. Of course when it was time to go home and they stopped running , the coldness set in. All you could hear was teeth a'chatterin'.
The next day we went to the beach again. This time they wanted to be buried in the sand. Phil and I dug holes and coved them up. They thought that was pretty cool.
To all the Coast Guard, Army, Navy, and Air Force men and women who have given their lives defending our freedom, and to those who are currently defending our country, we salute you.
Gone so long
Yes it has been ages since I've posted. I could say I promise I will get better...but who am I kidding. All I can say is I will TRY! :)
